For the renewal of democracies

REDemo is a project (theoretical, but with hope of effective application) to reform the institutional structure of democracies, to allow:
1. the inclusion of scientists and public experts in legislative-executive mechanisms;
2. the extension of citizens’ participation in public choices.
A detailed book on relations between scientists/experts (in the broad sense) and democracy illustrates the desired institutional reform:

"Rationalized and Extended Democracy": Inserting public scientists into the legislative/executive framework, reinforcing citizens' participation

Briefly: The REDemo Project
by Giovanni Molteni Tagliabue

The book is published (October 2023) by Firenze University Press in open access mode, and therefore freely downloadable: https://books.fupress.com/catalogue/rationalized-and-extended-democracy/13592
Previously, the text was made available in "open" review in the Bollettino telematico di filosofia politica – Overlay Journal of Political Philosophy: https://commentbfp.sp.unipi.it/giovanni-molteni-tagliabue-rationalized-and-extended-democracy-inserting-public-scientists-into-the-legislative-executive-framework-reinforcing-citizens-participation. Various comments by voluntary reviewers – academics and researchers in various areas – were published, as were subsequent replies by the author, then integrated into the final version. Before publication by FUP, the book was subjected to "classic" peer-review by two anonymous reviewers.

Italian academics and public researchers are invited to participate in a large survey on their interest in the REDemo Project: those who wish to contribute click here. The survey is carried out in English because the results will be published in an international scientific journal. Please invite your colleagues to participate in the survey. Thank you.

The invitation is extended to all academics and public researchers, not only specialists in political-social-legal sciences: the REDemo Project assumes the involvement of public experts from all areas.
Before answering the survey, we recommend reading the Summary of the book (p. 17-19).
